Shepherds-Weekend 25./26. August 2012

On the last weekend of August the traditional Shepherds-Weekend is carried out. Around 1000 sheep are rounded up after spending the whole Summer up on the Aletschji. The most beautiful sheep are rewarded and decorated with flowers. On Saturday evening the round-up is celebrated, before on Sunday morning the sheep are separated into their herds and taken back down into the valley.
